The Company
Noble taste of tradition
The love for the land of the Spanish Counts Zeuli has ancient roots. Certain information, preserved in the centuries-old archive of the House, dates back to before ‘600. They document the ownership of the lands surrounding Castel del Monte, the majestic octagonal manor that dominates the town of Andria. Built in the 13th century by Frederick II of Swabia, Castel del Monte was governed in ’600 by Sebastiano Spagnoletti who was its last castellan.
The history of the House, which also brings together illustrious men of law and church, coincides with the works and events that have patiently transformed the originally wooded area into lush countryside.
We are in the southern peninsula of Italy which overlooks the sea of Ulysses to the east. Sailing it many centuries before the Christian era the Greek colonists brought here, along with their civilization, also the culture of wine and oil. The olive tree in particular is the symbol of this land, which has always been the main production hub for Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Italy and, probably, in the world.
At the heart of this campaign, Onofrio Spagnoletti Zeuli, Count of Andria, perpetuates, with a modern entrepreneurial approach and investments, technology, and research, the traditions of a family that has dedicated an authentic cult to the olive tree and the vine for centuries.
