Tenuta Riccardo Muti

And when an oil represents the very essence of history and culture, can we simply call it an oil?

The Company

The Triumph of the Octagon

It's 2022: we're in Chicago, at the premiere of Philip Glass's Symphony No. 11 conducted by Riccardo Muti.

At the end of the execution, Glass, visiting the Master, is intrigued by the photo of an octagonal castle hanging in the dressing room.

That day Riccardo Muti reveals to Glass his love for Frederick's culture and the profound meaning of the number eight, symbol of the mysterious cosmic balance. Glass decides to translate this mystery into music with a composition inspired by Castel del Monte and his philosophy: The Triumph of the Octagon.

A year later, this work will give its name to the first oil produced by Tenuta Riccardo Muti: “The Triumph of the Octagon”. An oil that celebrates Frederick's world right from the label, where the octagonal plan of Castel del Monte dominates, while the letters inscribed in the octagon recall the “STUPOR MUNDI”, the famous title of Frederick II.

Coratina cultivar in the sun of Puglia

The oil of Tenuta Riccardo Muti owes its uniqueness to a territory that naturally embodies excellence.

The mineral-rich calcareous soil, the climate tempered by Mediterranean winds, and the abundance of Apulian sunshine create extraordinary conditions that enhance the organoleptic characteristics of Puglia's most famous cultivar: Coratina.

This variety, known for its taste and quality, is harvested manually so as not to affect its properties.

An oil inspired by history and music

Once the harvest is over, after careful selection, the important and timely pressing phase takes place in the mill, with the most advanced technologies helping to preserve and guarantee the superior quality of the final product, which expresses unique characteristics on the nose and palate.

The oil produced by Tenuta Riccardo Muti is the sensory expression of a thousand-year-old cultural heritage, ideal for accompanying gourmet and traditional dishes, or to savor on a simple slice of bread.
