In Foggia, presentation of the book "Nel Battito delle Parole"

Double presentation on Wednesday, January 28th and Thursday, January 29th of the book “In the Beat of Words. Women, Poetry, Life and Freedom”, the new publishing project born from the DEA#donnecheammiro community, founded in 2020 by Mariangela Cassano with the aim of highlighting the stories of women who live and work every day with courage, vitality, determination, and passion.
 
"In the Beat of Words” explores the strong connection between women's voices and the generating power of poetry. For this reason it is a book not only to read, but to breathe, embrace, give.
The volume collects texts by women who have chosen to tell their story through the poems of female poets who have shaped culture and embodied the invisible thread of solidarity between women of different eras, languages, and cultures. Poetry thus becomes an intimate place of rebirth and shared growth, capable of overcoming barriers and conventions to affirm freedom and truth.

Ten extraordinary women, professionals, entrepreneurs and activists, intertwine their stories with the verses of ten immortal poets: Sibilla Aleramo (Endrina Brito), Patrizia Cavalli (Filomena Cataldo), Wisława Szymborska (Claudia Laricchia), Emily Dickinson (Marcella Loporchio), Martha Rivera Garrido (Stefania Mancini), Saffo (Onelia Onorati), Martha Medeiros (Arianna Pigini), Amrita Pritam, with references also to Thrity Umrigar and Meena Kandasamy (Carola Salvato), Alda Merini (Giuseppina Salinardi) and Maria Luisa Spaziani (Rosella Scalone). Each author, mirroring herself in the words of these poets, has found the key to decoding her own existence: from the courage to change jobs to the strength to overcome an illness, from managing motherhood to fighting for gender equality.
The collection is embellished with a moving poem by Carlo Paris, an introduction by Michele Sabatini, conclusions by Paolo Cerino, and an afterword by Giusi Miccoli. Among the book's curiosities is an ’“impossible interview” conducted by Maurizio Carmignani with the poet Adrienne Rich (who passed away in 2012), made possible thanks to Vitruvian, a large-scale linguistic model developed by ASC27.

The book will be presented in Foggia on Wednesday, January 28th at 6:00 pm in the Sala Rosa of the Palazzetto dell'Arte “Andrea Pazienza”. After greetings from the Mayor of Foggia Maria Aida Tatiana Episcopo, speakers will include Franca Dente President OdV Impegno Donna, Mariangela Cassano founder community DEA #donnecheammiro, and Giulio De Santis Councilor for Legality and Security of the Municipality of Foggia. The reading of the poems and some passages from the book is entrusted to the actor Claudio Mione. Journalist Lisa Graziano will moderate the meeting.
On Thursday, January 29th at 6:30 pm at the Circolo Unione in Lucera (in Piazza Duomo), after greetings from President Silvio di Pasqua, Mariangela Cassano and Francesca Vecera, coordinator of CAV Telefono Donna - OdV Impegno Donna, will speak. The poems will be read by representatives of the association “Insieme per…”, leader of the project “Nessuna si salva da sola”. Journalist Danila Paradiso will moderate the meeting.
Proceeds from the copies sold during the presentations will be donated to the Impegno Donna Association, to concretely support women in difficulty.

Female Declinations” - was born from the passion for poetry of the community founder Mariangela Cassano, who found solace and growth in poetry during a particularly delicate period of her life

In the poem each woman is called to find her voice and get moving as part of a larger sisterhood movement, which supports and leads to the freedom of all. In a world that still stifles the voices of women, the works of the chosen poets rise to the occasion of rebirth, capable of transforming pain, fragility, difficulties and oppression into a vital and luminous force», argues Mariangela Cassano.
