The Palazzo degli Studi of Foggia was designed by Marcello Piacentini and stands on a large area of land near Piazza XXVIII Ottobre. Shortly after its construction, significant injuries and static risks were reported, consequently urgent work was needed so that it could be well preserved.
The Palazzo degli Studi stands on an area of over 10,000 square meters, 5,800 of which are occupied by the building and 4,200 by the courtyards. One hundred and fifty total rooms distributed on the floors, in addition to the large atrium, stairwells, corridors and accessories. The first two floors of the building are the headquarters of the Teaching Institute, the Training School, the Gymnasium and Classical Lyceum, the Scientific Lyceum and the Commercial Institute. The third floor is reserved for the Technical Institute, which, extending over a more limited perimeter, leaves large terraces uncovered "with an excellent aesthetic effect and evident practical utility".
