Al via la quinta stagione concertistica “Suoni del Sud”
Informations
The fifth concert season of the Territorial Symphony Orchestra “Suoni del Sud” is set to begin, featuring a rich program of fourteen concerts that confirms the Teatro Umberto Giordano as one of the most vibrant musical centers in Southern Italy. The 2026 season will offer a journey through great classical masterpieces, original productions and musical cross-genre projects, with the participation of internationally renowned performers.
The season will open on Friday, March 6 with “Mozart’s Last Song”, featuring the famous Requiem in D minor K.626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, conducted by Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli.
The program will explore different musical languages and offer events designed for a wide audience. Among the most original events is the “Circus Opera Show” on April 22, exceptionally hosted at the Teatro del Fuoco and curated and conducted by Roberto Molinelli, combining symphonic music with circus-inspired performances.
The season will also pay tribute to Italian cinema with “The Music that Tells Stories” (April 8), dedicated to the famous film scores of Nino Rota, performed by saxophonist Federico Mondelci.
Great classical masterpieces will also be featured throughout the season. On May 7, the genius of Antonio Vivaldi will take center stage with “L’Estro Armonico”, conducted and performed on violin by Ettore Pellegrino. On October 2, audiences will experience the lyrical atmosphere of Giacomo Puccini with “E lucevan le stelle…” from the opera Tosca, conducted by Benedetto Montebello.
One of the most anticipated concerts will take place on October 16 with “The Violin of Brahms”, featuring internationally acclaimed violinist Anna Tifu, performing Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77.
Concerts for families and contemporary sounds
The season will also include performances designed for younger audiences, such as “The Orchestra of Nature” (March 20), featuring “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, conducted by Giuseppe Fabrizio.
Another highlight will be “Il Miracolo Madrigal” (December 11), a concert-musical freely inspired by the animated film Encanto, directed and arranged by Domenico De Biase.
Singer-songwriter music will also be featured with “Dear Lucio, I Write to You” (September 25), a musical tribute to Lucio Dalla, performed by Cristian Levantaci.
Jazz will take the stage on November 13 with “Italian Jazz Speaks”, featuring Javier Girotto and Gianni Iorio, while “The Symphonic Harmonica” on October 30 will feature Gianluca Littera as both conductor and soloist.
On November 27, the program will include “ContempoRun – Premio Corti di Capitanata”, the traditional marathon dedicated to contemporary music languages, organized in collaboration with the Umberto Giordano Conservatory and conducted by Giuseppe Fabrizio.
Festive closing concerts
As tradition dictates, the season will conclude with two festive concerts: “Christmas Songs” on December 22 and the New Year’s Concert on December 30, conducted by Emilia Di Pasquale.
All concerts will begin at 8:30 PM at the Teatro Umberto Giordano in Foggia.
Season subscriptions range from €90 for the gallery seats to €150 for central stalls and boxes, while single tickets (from €11 to €15) will also be available through Vivaticket.
