A day dedicated to olive oil excellence will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, marking the grand finale of the second edition of the “Mignola d’Oro - Gargano Extra Virgin Olive Oil Award”, a competition promoted by the Municipality of Vieste to highlight the best local extra virgin olive oils.
The event will begin at 11:00 AM at Hotel I Melograni, featuring the conference titled “Gargano Extra Virgin Olive Oil: The Possible Revolution”.
A growing sector between tradition and innovation
The conference will explore ongoing transformations in the olive oil sector, both locally and nationally. The Gargano area is experiencing significant growth, driven by quality production and the enhancement of native olive varieties.
The “possible revolution” refers to a concrete path involving:
improved agricultural and production techniques
certified quality standards
organic farming development
traceability and transparency
olive oil tourism (oleotourism)
A transformation supported by collaboration among producers, institutions, and research bodies.

Following institutional greetings by Giuseppe Nobiletti and Gaetano Paglialonga, several key figures from political, institutional, and agricultural sectors will speak, offering diverse perspectives on the future of olive oil production.

The event will conclude with the official awards ceremony, introduced by director Andrea Pezzolla and head panel Sabrina Pupillo.
