The Ordona Archaeological Museum is the only museum dedicated to the archaeological site of Herdonia. The reception at the museum takes place in the introductory section, including landscape images and aerial views of the Herdonia site. The focal point of the welcome is the video projected on the inclined plane, which summarizes the history of the city and the area from the Daunian age to the present and the public is invited to visit the museum to find out how this history was reconstructed. Considering the position of this multimedia support, the video can also represent the conclusion of the path, at the visitor's discretion.
The itinerary runs clockwise, starting from the reception. The audience continues clockwise, through the multimedia corridor, where a film is projected along the entire wall dedicated to the discovery of the site and the protagonists. The film ends by inviting you to enter the large room to look at the objects and stories that make up the material and ideal trace of 50 years of archaeological research on site and territory.
The Ordona Archaeological Museum is divided into 3 sections: Novecento; The territory; The city.
Each section is equipped with: drawings and images, that is large panels with photographic reproductions, plans and sections from the archives of the University of Foggia, explanatory panels with short texts and in large and clearly legible characters, showcases with objects and multimedia products.
