# Oleocentrica celebrates its 10th anniversary: Vieste welcomes back Olive Oil Week
**VIESTE (Italy)** – Ten years of promoting culture, education and the excellence of extra virgin olive oil. From **23 to 27 August 2026**, the seaside town of **Vieste**, in the heart of the Gargano National Park, will host the **10th edition of Oleocentrica – Olive Oil Week**, one of Italy's leading events dedicated to the culture of extra virgin olive oil.
Organised by the **Municipality of Vieste**, with the support of the Apulia Region, the Province of Foggia, Gargano National Park, GAL Gargano, Città dell'Olio and Pandolea Association, the festival has become an important showcase for the Gargano olive-growing heritage, bringing together producers, experts, buyers, food lovers and visitors from across Italy and abroad.
For five days, Vieste will become an open-air hub dedicated to extra virgin olive oil, offering a rich programme of workshops, guided tastings, cooking demonstrations, educational activities, technical conferences, live music and the traditional Producers' Market. The event combines education, gastronomy and experiential tourism while celebrating one of Apulia's most iconic products.
The 2026 edition will feature several conferences focusing on innovation in the olive oil sector, including smart technologies for olive mills, sustainable olive grove management and new opportunities for Italian olive oil exports. A special session will also explore the Japanese market, highlighting consumer trends and business opportunities for producers interested in international expansion.
Table olives, an increasingly important sector of Italian agriculture, will also take centre stage through dedicated talks and guided tastings.
Alongside the educational programme, visitors will once again enjoy some of the festival's most popular experiences, including olive oil tastings on historic **trabucchi** (traditional wooden fishing platforms), mindfulness sessions among centuries-old olive trees, food pairing experiences and mixology masterclasses showcasing innovative cocktails made with extra virgin olive oil.
Among the new features of the 2026 edition is a masterclass dedicated to the use of extra virgin olive oil in pastry making. The programme will also include the return of **"The Chefs' Olive Oil"** cooking show, the popular **"Pizza in Piazza"** event featuring renowned Italian pizza masters, and the closing talk focusing on the challenges and opportunities of international markets for extra virgin olive oil and table olives.
Every evening, **Marina Piccola** will host the Producers' Market together with live music performances, offering visitors the opportunity to discover and taste some of the finest extra virgin olive oils produced in the Gargano area.
