"Zeno's Conscience" is a masterpiece of 20th-century literature, written by Italo Svevo, which celebrates the centenary of its publication in 2023. The show, produced by the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia and directed by Paolo Valerio, is part of an important cultural project dedicated to the city of Trieste and its literary treasures.
The novel features innovative narration and the complexity of its protagonist, Zeno Cosini, who undergoes psychoanalytic therapy with Dr. S to address his malaise and neurosis. Zeno, feeling inept and unwell, navigates life by alternating episodes of bourgeois daily life with surreal moments filled with humor and truth.
