The church of Santa Maria di Anzano, declared a Sanctuary in 1820 by Pio VII, is located in the historic center of the town of Anzano di Puglia.

The sanctuary of Santa Maria di Anzano was destroyed by the earthquake of 1930 and in its place the building that is now there was built, with red bricks and a white bell tower.
