The eighth edition of the “Cinema Festival on the Pilgrimage Trails” expands for the Jubilee Year, doubling its venues: from May 29 to June 1, Mònde lands in Foggia, and from July 18 to 20 it returns to its historic home in Monte Sant’Angelo.
Theme & Symbol
Under the motto “Pilgrims of Hope,” this year’s festival celebrates both inner and outer journeys linking Puglia to Europe’s ancient pilgrimage routes toward the Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel. The festival’s emblem is the Shofar, the ram’s horn of Jewish tradition that heralds transformation, renewal, and liberation—values resonant with the Jubilee’s message of hope.
Program Highlights
Archaeology Section & “Marina Mazzei” Award: short films and documentaries on Daunia’s archaeological heritage, honoring the renowned local archaeologist with a dedicated prize.
Fabrizio Gifuni Retrospective: a curated selection of the acclaimed actor’s most memorable performances, capped by a public discussion at Foggia’s Teatro “Umberto Giordano” on his career.
Screenings & Talks: feature films and documentaries focused on pilgrimage and travel, roundtables with filmmakers and critics, and masterclasses for emerging talents.
Organized by MAD – Memorie Audiovisive della Daunia with support from the Apulia Region, Apulia Film Commission, Municipality of Foggia, and Municipality of Monte Sant’Angelo, Mònde fosters a rich dialogue between cinema, spirituality, and local heritage.
