Musiche di Bach, Pergolesi e Mozart per la Settimana Santa.
Informations
The ‘Vivere la Musica’ series, organized by the 'la Magna Capitana' Library in Foggia, concludes with the final meeting of the ‘Guides to Classical Music Listening’, an initiative created and led by Maestro Marco Maria Lacasella, librarian and conductor, designed to bring classical music closer to the audience, including those without expertise in the genre.
The final meeting will take place on Thursday, April 17th at 5:30 PM in the Conference Room of the Museum of Natural History in Foggia, titled 'From Silence to Light: Music by Bach, Pergolesi, Mozart. Oratorios and Music of Holy Week,' a musical and artistic journey in preparation for Easter.
During the meeting, some preludes op. 28 by Chopin, composed in Valldemossa, a town near Palma de Mallorca where the composer lived in isolation between 1838 and 1839 during a period marked by illness, will be heard. In particular, Maestro Lacasella will present prelude no. 4 and prelude no. 6, compositions created during a time of great suffering and solitude.
Another central theme of the meeting will be light, with a focus on Bach's 'St. Matthew Passion BWV 244'. This famous oratorio, in which the composer expresses his faith through the texts of the passion of Matthew, will be accompanied by listening to pieces such as ‘Venite anime aiutatemi a Piangere’ and ‘Erbarme dich – Have mercy on me, Lord, for the love of my tears’. Admission is free.
