The Puzzano Wood (Celenza Valfortore) covers an area of about 300 hectares of which 60 are raised in tall trees. It represents a wooded area of historical significance, given that in the past there were farmhouses and monasteries and was a refuge for famous brigands.
It consists of dense vegetation, consisting of deciduous broad-leaved trees with a dominance of oaks, in particular Roverella and Cerro. You can also find: Field Maple, Montano Maple, Opal Maple, White Hornbeam, Ash, Hazelnut, Montano Elm, Linden, Rowan, Pear, Robinia, Lesser Alder, Holly.
The Puzzano wood is a naturalistic area of particular value, thanks also to the presence of the wolf and various mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Through the numerous paths, you can admire the various species of animals present in the reserve, in the aviaries and in the farmyard (including for example the honey buzzard, the buzzard...), and you will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the surrounding nature, both stopping in the picnic area and crossing the paths inside the woods. Inside, at the "Casone Iamele" it is possible to visit the "center for settling and restocking game".
