A journey into Italian abstract art and the work of one of its most influential figures. On April 11, 2026, the Contemporanea Galleria d’Arte opens an exhibition dedicated to Carla Accardi, a key protagonist of 20th-century abstract art.
The exhibition features around 20 works, spanning from the 1950s to the early 2000s, offering a comprehensive look at an artistic path marked by constant experimentation.
A unique visual language
Accardi’s work is defined by a distinctive sign-based language: fluid yet precise lines, dynamic compositions, and a balance between structure and movement.
Sicofoil and spatial interaction
One of the highlights is the use of sicofoil, a transparent plastic material that allows the artwork to interact with light and space, creating immersive visual effects and transforming the viewer’s experience.
From sketches to masterpieces
The exhibition also includes preparatory drawings from the 1960s and later works that reflect her ongoing exploration of color, light, and form.
