Informations
The Piccolo Teatro di Foggia returns with a new event from the 2024-2025 "Cammini" season, presenting the drama "Malavita" at the Teatro Giordano on Saturday, April 12th at 9 PM and Sunday, April 13th at 8:30 PM. The theatrical adaptation, text, and direction are entrusted to Dino La Cecilia, who stages a free reimagining of the opera by Umberto Giordano, composed in 1892. The story, which portrays the conflict between two women for the love of Don Vito, is enriched by flashbacks exploring the composer’s youth, when he met the publisher Sonzogno and created his first opera. The music, conceived by Guido Paolo Longo, will be performed live and blend seamlessly with the acting, without a fixed score, in a mix of emotion and innovation. In addition to La Cecilia, the cast includes Fabio Conticelli, Sarah Panessa, Francesca D’Elia, and many others. The project is realized in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Foggia.
