The Carnival of Manfredonia, now in its seventieth anniversary, is preparing to celebrate this important milestone with an edition that could mark a turning point in its history. This event, rooted in the heart of the Sipontini, who boast of having "confetti in their blood", has always been one of the most significant and distinctive manifestations of the city.đ đ
The history and tradition of the Carnival of Manfredonia, an intrinsic element of the city identity, will not be forgotten in this special edition. The event is recognized and appreciated not only locally, but also beyond the city limits, as a crossroads of artistic talents ranging from papier-mâchÊ to original and imaginative costumes, the result of creative minds and fine seamstresses.
đThe 2024 program presents the right mix of innovation and tradition - for example the return of Shrove Thursday, days when a real "carnival" will be realized in the city - and with the important emphasis that it will be a Carnival open to all and for all.đ
The three symbolic dates of the 11th, 13th and 17th of Februaryđ đ are essential to the celebration.
Sunday, February 11: "Grand Parade of Wonders and Masked Groups". The Comprehensive Institutes and Higher Institutes of Manfredonia will perform.
The afternoon, symbolically defined as "Childrenâs White Afternoon", will be dedicated to the fun of the little ones with jugglers, mascots, soap bubbles and street artists who will animate the craziest day of the year.
Tuesday 13 February: Largo Diomede will be the great stage that will host the performance of masked groups. Following the solemn funeral of Ze Pèppe with the last salute to our symbol mask. It will follow the social table "U CunzÚle de Ze Pèppe" in the streets of the historic center.
Saturday, February 17: The Colored Night from 18.00. Great Night Parade of Wonders and Masked Groups that will invade viale Nazario Sauro starting from Piazzale Ferri.
The Old Town will be the setting of the "Colorful Carnival Night", the craziest night in Puglia. Entertainment, entertainment, music and tastings in the most beautiful streets of the city center, to end in Piazza del Popolo and Largo Diomede with two musical performances. The program, just in these hours, is enriched with other events, new and traditional, that will complete the offer for all those who decide to spend the carnival in Manfredonia.
