On Saturday, May 23, Roseto Valfortore celebrates its most authentic identity with the Spring Festival – May in Roseto, a day dedicated to the rose, the symbol of the village and the centerpiece of a journey that blends nature, culture, and entertainment.
The program will begin at 5:00 PM at the Villetta Forestale with the talk “The spectacular world of the ROSE in all its forms,” led by botanist Prof. Tiziano Del Buono. The event is designed to present the rose not only as an ornamental flower, but also as a valuable resource in cooking, tradition, and cosmetics, in a fascinating journey through curiosities, uses, and meanings. Afterwards, a route will begin from the Villetta Forestale through the town center, an itinerary among the alleys and distinctive views of Roseto Valfortore to discover the different varieties of roses found in the area. The experience will be enriched with insights and useful information to get to know this floral heritage up close, in an immersive journey that combines education, nature, and local enhancement.
The evening will continue at 8:30 PM in Piazza Bartolomeo III di Capua, where the village will come alive with an engaging singing performance hosted by Luigi Mossuto from Gargano TV, featuring Alessia Carelli and local musicians. Music and entertainment will accompany residents and visitors in a festive and convivial atmosphere, closing the day with a moment of great participation.
The Spring Festival is therefore a special opportunity to experience Roseto Valfortore in a charming setting, surrounded by scents, colors, and traditions, further strengthening the deep bond between the village and the rose, an emblem of identity, beauty, and the future.
