Plot
The play, first performed in 1988 with Nino Manfredi, tells the story of Anna, also known as "Princess," a disorganized prostitute who dreams of becoming a carousel operator, and Ugo, an intellectual in search of inspiration. The story begins when Ugo, disturbed by Anna's noise, goes upstairs to complain, only to find his apartment flooded due to the chaos. Forced to seek refuge with Anna, the two begin a forced cohabitation that leads to a series of misunderstandings, accidents, and eventually, a curious friendship. Through their interactions, they explore their dreams and desires, creating a blend of comedy and melancholy that characterizes the work.
