From September 13 to November 13, 2025, the Franciscan Provincial Library “P. Antonio Fania”, inside the San Matteo convent and sanctuary in San Marco in Lamis, will host the anthological exhibition “Heterotopias. Works 1986-2025” by Michele Tancredi, curated by Gianfranco Piemontese and Stefano De Luca.
Admission is free. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm; Sundays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A return to origins
The exhibition features around one hundred works spanning nearly four decades of artistic exploration, offering a deep insight into Tancredi’s creative universe. His monumental figures and characters are displayed in the heart of the Gargano, within the Franciscan library where, as a teenager, the artist often went to study.
A special event
During the inauguration on September 27, a trio of unique jewels designed by Michele Tancredi and crafted by goldsmith Nazario Monaco will also be unveiled, highlighting the artist’s continuous experimentation across painting, sculpture, and design.
“Heterotopias” thus unfolds as a journey through memory — a dialogue between past and present that reveals the depth and versatility of Tancredi’s expressive language.
