Preludes of Dance: The Eighth Edition Celebrates International Dance Day in Barletta


On April 29, 2025, the Teatro Curci in Barletta will host the eighth edition of Preludes of Dance, an event dedicated to celebrating the art of dance on the occasion of International Dance Day. This anniversary, established in 1982 by the International Dance Council and the International Theatre Institute - UNESCO, honors the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre, the renowned choreographer considered the founder of modern ballet.


Preludes of Dance, promoted by the Arte&BalettO association in collaboration with the Municipality of Barletta and the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, has become a yearly event in the city. Each year, it brings local dance schools, aspiring dancers, and enthusiasts to the stage, creating an atmosphere of shared celebration for the art of movement. This year, as in past editions, the evening will offer performances that showcase a variety of dance styles, uniting generations of dancers and engaging the local community.


A Tribute to the Art of Terpsichore


The Preludes of Dance program aims to pay tribute to Terpsichore, the muse of dance, through an artistic journey highlighting local schools and the young talents of dance. This event is not just a performance but also a moment of gathering and promoting dance as a form of artistic expression and a tool for personal and collective growth.
