Uni-Tanz 2026 – International Contemporary Dance Campus in Foggia

From **3 to 6 September 2026**, Foggia will host the **14th edition of Uni-Tanz**, the International Contemporary Dance Campus created by the Salento-based association **Koreoproject**, under the artistic direction of **Giorgia Maddamma** and coordinated by **Sara Bizzoca**.

Taking place in Foggia for the first time, the campus will offer four days dedicated to **training, choreographic research, urban performance and live shows**, with the support of the **Puglia Region**, in collaboration with the **Municipality of Foggia** and the **Teatro dei Limoni** company.

Hosted at the **Teatro Umberto Giordano**, Uni-Tanz will feature contemporary dance technique classes led by Giorgia Maddamma, a lecturer at the National Academy of Dance in Rome, as well as a choreographic workshop with **Daphnis Kokkinos**, Greek dancer and choreographer from Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, who worked for many years alongside Pina Bausch as a collaborator and assistant.

## The Nelken Line

On **Saturday, 5 September at 7:00 p.m.**, Daphnis Kokkinos will lead the campus participants through the streets of central Foggia for **The Nelken Line**, one of Pina Bausch’s most iconic creations.

Through a sequence of simple gestures representing the four seasons, a long line of performers will bring an urban performance inspired by the celebrated German choreographer’s work to the streets of the city.

## Dance Evening/Guests

The event will conclude on **Sunday, 6 September at 9:00 p.m.** at the **Teatro Umberto Giordano** with **“Dance Evening/Guests”**, a Koreoproject performance included in the 12th edition of **NU.D.I. – Nuove Drammaturgie Indipendenti**, a festival created and directed by Roberto Galano and organised by Teatro dei Limoni.

The evening will present the work developed during the campus, together with a **lecture demonstration by Daphnis Kokkinos** dedicated to Pina Bausch’s work, a **choreography by Ricky Bonavita**, artist, choreographer and dancer with the Rome-based Excursus company, as well as performances by Koreoproject and other guests.

**Admission to the final evening is free, subject to availability.**

Founded in Lecce in 2013, Uni-Tanz is a project dedicated to training and research in contemporary dance. Over the years, it has welcomed participants, teachers and artists from numerous countries and developed collaborations with Italian and international institutions, including the National Academy of Dance in Rome and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
