Once again this year, in the heart of Holy Week, Carpino is preparing to experience one of the most significant moments of its religious tradition: the Sacred Representation of the Passion of Christ, now in its 17th edition. The event, organized by the local Pro Loco in collaboration with the Parishes of San Cirillo - San Nicola and with the support of the Municipality, will take place on Tuesday, April 15, starting at 5 PM in Largo San Nicola. It will continue through the streets of the historic center and conclude in Piazza del Popolo, where the Crucifixion and the moving Lament of the Madonna by Jacopone Da Todi will be performed.

“This is not just an event, but an act of faith, a prayer made into action, a word given life, a community made into the living body of Christ. It is the story of suffering, love, and sacrifice that forever changed the history of humanity. The Living Stations of the Cross, brought to life by the faces, voices, and hearts of those who still believe the Gospel speaks to humanity today,” say the organizers.

Mayor Rocco Di Brina adds: “This is not just a performance to watch, but an experience to be lived with an open heart, gazing at that Cross that does not judge, but saves. In a time when values seem to waver and faith is often lost, there is a need to return to the essentials, to rediscover the power of a message that speaks of love, forgiveness, and rebirth. It invites us to walk together as a community, on the path of peace, justice, and mercy. An opportunity to reflect, renew, and return to Christ, who every day continues to return to us, so that this Sacred Representation may become a true moment of conversion.”
