10th Edition of ‘Musica Felix’: Eight Performances Celebrating Harmony Between Tradition and Innovation
From January 25 to April 26, 2025, the Santa Chiara Auditorium in Foggia (Piazza Santa Chiara) will host the 10th edition of ‘Musica Felix’, the music festival organized by the Apulia Felix Foundation, under the artistic direction of Maestro Dino De Palma. The event celebrates a decade of success with eight captivating performances blending music, theater, and culture, all scheduled on Saturdays at 7:00 PM.
The Performances
The festival opens on January 25 with ‘La musica miracolosa. Storia del pianista del ghetto di Varsavia’, a moving musical tale performed by music critic and actor Stefano Valanzuolo and pianist Francesco Nicolosi, highlighting the life-saving power of music.
On February 1, ‘Sentieri. Dalla pizzica alla tarantella’ takes the audience on a musical journey through Southern traditions, featuring an extraordinary ensemble: Avi Avital (mandolin), Giovanni Sollima (cello), Giuseppe Copia (theorbo and guitars), and Alessia Tondo (voice and tambourine).
On February 15, ‘Paganiniana’ showcases the virtuosity of violinist Nurie Chung and the Bruno Maderna Orchestra, conducted by Roberto Molinelli, with the legendary ‘Caprices’ by Paganini.
On February 22, ‘Folklore magiaro’ blends traditional Hungarian folk music with masterpieces by Béla Bartók and György Ligeti, performed by cellist Enrico Bronzi and the folk ensemble Muzsikás.
On March 8, ‘Storie (d’)amare e d’amore’ reflects on love through music and literature, featuring actress Giusi Cataldo, violinist Liliana Bernardi, and pianist Elena Matteucci.
On March 22, ‘Dolcissime radici’ presents a musical journey from the 14th century to contemporary music, led by Puglian artist Giovanna Carone, exploring the evolution of music and poetry.
On April 12, the theatrical performance ‘La sindrome di Stoccolma’ by Roberto D’Alessandro humorously explores social and political issues in Southern Italy.
The festival concludes on April 26 with a jazz concert by the Silvia Manco 4et, featuring American standards, Italian film scores, and original compositions.
