Gianna Nannini left her family of candy merchants and ran away from home at the age of 18 to pursue her musical dream. She moved to Milan and released her first album, Gianna Nannini, in 1975, followed by Una radura in 1976. Her breakthrough came in 1979 with the album California, preceded by the hit single "America." In 1982, she released Latin Lover, one of the most iconic albums of her career, with collaborations from musicians like Annie Lennox, Jackie Liebezeit, and Hannette Humpe. The album earned Platinum status in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. In 1984, she became a star with the release of Puzzle, which featured the hit "Fotoromanza."
Her tours grew ever larger, reaching Germany, France, and other countries, with her albums released across Europe, Australia, South America, the USA, Canada, and South Korea. Over her 40-year career, Nannini has produced massive hits such as "Bello e impossibile," "I maschi," "Profumo," "Hey biond," "Scandalo," "Radio baccano" (with Jovanotti), "Notti magiche" (with Edoardo Bennato), "Meravigliosa creatura," and "Sei nell'anima."
