Mattinata èXtraordinaria 2026

From 21 June to 19 September 2026, the charming seaside town of Mattinata, in the heart of the Gargano National Park, will host Mattinata èXtraordinary 2026, a summer programme offering four months of events dedicated to culture, music, sport, nature, gastronomy and local traditions.

A major new feature of the 2026 edition is the Open Call, an initiative designed to involve local associations, businesses and organisations from Mattinata and neighbouring towns. Through this opportunity, participants can submit cultural, artistic, sporting and experiential events to become part of the official programme, creating an increasingly vibrant and community-driven calendar.

Among the highlights is the third edition of Conversazioni dal Mare, taking place on 10 and 11 July at the breathtaking Monte Saraceno Belvedere. The event will welcome leading figures from Italy's cultural and institutional scene, including Walter Veltroni, Piero Grasso, Concita De Gregorio, Marino Bartoletti, Pegah Moshir Pour and Father Antonio Coluccia, accompanied by a live performance from singer-songwriter Erica Mou.

From 24 to 26 July, visitors can enjoy the colourful Cromà Festival, featuring the popular Sun Set Color Run, while sports enthusiasts can take part in the Summer Sport Festival "The Cage", scheduled from 26 to 28 June.

The programme also includes theatre performances, street entertainment, guided nature experiences organised by Alènn – Sensazioni di un Territorio, wellness activities, cultural tours, food and wine events and numerous initiatives celebrating the traditions and authentic flavours of the Gargano area.

Other key events include the celebration of Municipal Autonomy and Mattinatese of the Year on 4 August, organised in partnership with Letteratura e Territorio and BCC San Giovanni Rotondo – Gargano Vita; A Tavola col Pastore on 9 August, featuring a concert by Tarantula Garganica; and Mattinamare on 20 August, dedicated to promoting local products and regional excellence.

The programme will also feature events organised by AVIS, many community initiatives throughout the summer and the long-awaited return of the White Night (Notte Bianca) on 27 August, when the town will come alive with music, live performances and entertainment.

The summer season will conclude with the traditional celebrations in honour of Santa Maria della Luce, taking place from 14 to 16 September, one of the most important annual events for the local community.
