13th Edition of 'FoggiaFotografia': A Month of Photography in Foggia

For the thirteenth consecutive year, FoggiaFotografia, organized by the FotoCineClub of Foggia, returns to the city. This event, running from September 13 to December 7, 2024, offers a packed schedule of exhibitions, author talks, seminars, and book presentations, featuring renowned photographers from Italy and beyond.

The series opens on Friday, September 13 at 6:30 PM at the Galleria della Fondazione dei Monti Uniti di Foggia with the inauguration of Le storie nella storia. Sessant’anni di racconti di un fotoreporter freelance by Uliano Lucas. This retrospective exhibition, composed of 86 photos, captures Italian history from the 1960s to the present, including reports from Asia, Africa, and Yugoslavia. The photographer will be present at the opening. The exhibition will be open until October 12, from Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM.

Throughout the festival, several other exhibits will open, including a highly anticipated show by Iranian photojournalist Manoocher Deghati on October 5 at the Palazzetto dell’Arte in Foggia. Not to be missed are Piena di grazia by Ilaria Sagaria, opening on October 11 at the Sala Diomede of the Museo Civico di Foggia, and Feste! Un’identità in trasformazione by Rhodri Jones, opening on November 8 at the Galleria di Palazzo Dogana.

The program also includes numerous workshops and screenings, such as the workshop Libri immaginari: le copertine led by Francesco Galli, and a screening of the docufilm Parole Sante by Niki dell’Anno on September 27.

The month of events will conclude on December 7 with the award ceremony for the eighth edition of the Concorso Nazionale FoggiaFotografia.

FoggiaFotografia is recognized by the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF) and is sponsored by the Fondazione dei Monti Uniti di Foggia, the Puglia Region, the Municipality of Foggia, the Province of Foggia, and the Polo Biblio Museale of Foggia, including the 'La Magna Capitana' library, as well as the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese.
