May 1st: Tour and Food & Wine Experience
Informations
To mark the May 1st, 2026 holiday, the Amici dell’Archeologia association, in collaboration with the Fondazione Archeologica Canosina and with the support of the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Canosa di Puglia, is organizing the special tour “Canusium Romana” — an itinerary that explores some of the most fascinating archaeological sites of the ancient city.
The initiative includes two guided tours, at 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with a route that touches several key landmarks of Roman Canosa:
Roman Domus – an elegant imperial‑era residence
Temple of Jupiter Toro – built by order of Herodes Atticus
Ferrara Baths Mosaic – famous for its depiction of a marine hippocampus
Lomuscio Baths – an ancient neighborhood thermal complex
Scocchera B Hypogeum – a Daunian tomb where an important Gallic helmet was discovered
A rich historical itinerary, ideal for families, enthusiasts and curious visitors, made even more accessible thanks to indoor sites, perfect even in case of bad weather.
To participate, booking is required by calling 333 885 6300, where additional information is also available.
Participants will also be able to enjoy special fixed‑price menus at partner restaurants.
