An international concert-event to celebrate ‘You come down from the stars’, the most famous Christmas carol in the world, composed by Sant'Alfonso Maria de’ Liguori at Christmas 1744 in Deliceto. The first ‘Christmas Concert’ will be held on Sunday, December 21st at 7 pm.
Piazzale Belvedere, where a modern indoor facility will be set up for the occasion, will host a parade of opera stars, starting with Luciano Lamonarca, a world-renowned Italian-American tenor who has lived in the United States since 2008. Winner of the Catholic Music Award in 2025, he has performed at the United Nations General Assembly, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and Madison Square Garden. The tenor will be conducted by Maestro Gianmichele D'Errico and will be joined on stage by soprano Angela Rosa Fico, violinist Ciro Formisano, and the String Orchestra of the San Carlo Association of Naples. The evening's guest of honor will be Monsignor Giorgio Ferretti, Archbishop of Foggia-Bovino.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Deliceto in close collaboration with the Oasi della Pace Marian Community and the association ‘The People of Hope’, with the patronage of the Archdiocese of Foggia-Bovino.
The event scheduled for December 21st continues the various initiatives undertaken by the Municipality of Deliceto to enhance, through the rediscovery of ‘You descend from the stars’, the village's great tangible and intangible heritage.
