Antonio Diurno and the Roccia murder at centonove/novantasei

On Friday, May 9 at 6:30 PM, the centonove/novantasei bookshop will welcome writer and criminologist Antonio Diurno, who will present his new book Fiore di marzo. The Nadia Roccia Murder. As tradition goes, the evening will conclude with a small tasting featuring selected products available on the shop’s shelves.

Joining the author in conversation will be Cinzia Rizzetti, who will help guide the audience through a story that is not just a criminological account, but also a powerful social and human portrait that deeply impacted the local community.

The event is organized by the Oltre consortium of social cooperatives and the local business network through centonove/novantasei, as part of the national initiative Il Maggio dei Libri, promoted by the Italian Centre for Books and Reading. The campaign aims to promote reading as a key tool for personal, cultural, and civic growth. The theme of the 2025 edition, Intelleg(g)o, underscores the irreplaceable value of reading in shaping critical thinking, deep awareness, and meaningful ideals.

Fiore di marzo. The Nadia Roccia Murder (published by Scatole Parlanti) recounts a shocking crime that shook the small town of Castelluccio dei Sauri, in the province of Foggia, on March 14, 1998. Eighteen-year-old Nadia was brutally murdered by her two close friends, Annamaria and Mariena. Nearly three decades later, the motive remains unclear. In his book, the author retraces the places involved and collects testimonies from those who were closely affected by the events of that tragic time—from the crime itself to the investigation and trial.
