GIORDANO IN JAZZ 2026: FOGGIA WELCOMES AN INTERNATIONAL SUMMER OF JAZZ

Five outstanding stars of contemporary jazz and soul will headline a special edition celebrating more than a decade of music, artistic exchange, and international excellence. Giordano in Jazz returns to Foggia for its 2026 summer season, promoted by the Teatro Umberto Giordano in collaboration with Moody Jazz Café and with the technical support of Puglia Culture.

From June 6 to July 14, 2026, between Piazza Cesare Battisti and the Teatro Giordano, the festival will offer a journey through the many facets of contemporary jazz, featuring internationally acclaimed artists who embody different styles, languages and musical visions.

The festival opens on June 6 in Piazza Cesare Battisti with renowned Italian pianist Danilo Rea and his quartet, featuring Flavio Boltro on trumpet, Massimo Moriconi on double bass and Ellade Bandini on drums. Their unique project pays tribute to composer Umberto Giordano through original jazz reinterpretations of his most celebrated operatic arias, creating a fascinating dialogue between classical heritage and improvisation.

On June 13, as part of the Giordaniana White Night celebrations, acclaimed pianist Francesca Tandoi will present the world premiere of her new album “SongBook Vol. 1”, released on June 2, 2026. Widely recognized as one of the most compelling musicians on the international jazz scene, Tandoi combines dazzling technique with deep swing and a profound connection to the bebop and hard bop tradition.

The festival’s main ticketed programme will feature three major concerts in Piazza Cesare Battisti.

On June 30, British singer-songwriter Mica Millar will bring her powerful voice and distinctive style to Foggia, presenting her highly anticipated second album “A Little Bit of Me”. Her music blends soul, gospel, blues and jazz, creating an emotional and deeply personal live experience.

On July 1, two-time Grammy Award winner Nate Smith will take the stage with his project “LIVE ACTION”. Widely regarded as one of the most influential drummers of his generation, Smith combines jazz, funk, hip hop and contemporary groove into an energetic and innovative musical language.

The festival will conclude on July 14 with Aaron Parks, the celebrated American pianist and composer known for redefining the boundaries of modern jazz. Performing with his trio, Parks will present music that seamlessly blends lyrical melodies, minimal electronic textures and adventurous improvisation.
