40th Orange Festival
Informations
Every year, in the heart of spring, Rodi Garganico turns orange and fills with citrus scents for the traditional Orange Festival, a historical event that celebrates its prestigious 40th edition this year. The festival honors one of the most prized and iconic products of the area: the Gargano PGI Oranges.
Rodi Garganico, a small village overlooking the sea in the Gargano National Park, is renowned for its centuries-old agricultural tradition. Here, citrus fruits are more than just a crop; they are a true heritage of taste, history, and culture. During the festival, the town's streets—specifically Piazza Padre Pio, Piazza Garibaldi, Corso Teodoro Moretti, and Piazza Luigi Rovelli—come alive with food and wine stalls, tastings of local specialties, and orange-based desserts, offering visitors the chance to rediscover ancient local recipes, from artisanal jams to flavored liqueurs.
The program for the 40th edition, taking place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, offers an immersive experience in the world of citrus:
From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Free excursion in the Citrus Oasis of Rodi Garganico, organized by the Citrus Consortium (for information: Michele at +39 340 8957695).
Starting at 11:00 AM: Opening of food and wine stalls and start of tastings of local products and citrus-based desserts.
Starting at 5:30 PM: Music and itinerant folk shows, featuring the town band and a performance by "Le Mulieres Garganiche."
The Orange Festival is much more than a gastronomic event: it is a moment of meeting and sharing that strengthens the deep bond between the Rodi Garganico community and its land, attracting visitors from all over Italy eager to discover oranges famous for their intense perfume and juicy pulp.
Admission to the event is free and open to all citizens and tourists wishing to experience a day full of tradition and Gargano folklore.
