Informations

From 29 to 31 May 2026, San Giovanni Rotondo becomes a vibrant open‑air library with the new edition of the Street Book Festival, organized by Letteratura e Territorio in collaboration with BCC San Giovanni Rotondo.

Three days of talks, readings, workshops, and performances that bring culture out of traditional spaces and into the city’s squares, bookstores, and public areas.

This is a festival that brings together authors, readers, and the community.

The event opens on Friday, 29 May, with the presentation of Molto meglio litigare by Eva Serena Pavan and Non lontano da qui by Francesca Avanzini, followed by a rich series of events dedicated to contemporary fiction, poetry, and mental health.

Among the guests of the day are Michele D’Ignazio, author of Felice e l’invenzione del mare, and Mario De Vivo, with his literary journey dedicated to Pino Daniele.

Saturday: between young authors and established voices

On 30 May, the festival comes alive with meetings dedicated to young writers and emerging voices in fiction.

There is also space for poetry and mindfulness with Toni Mischitelli, and for children’s literature with Elisabetta Dani, member of the Geronimo Stilton team.

The day concludes with the highly anticipated talk by Serena Bortone, journalist and TV host, presenting Le direttepette.

Sunday: families and major authors

31 May is dedicated to families and children, with the Triciclo Raduna and creative workshops curated by the Presidio del Libro.

In the afternoon, the spotlight turns to fiction with Maria Pia Romano, Stefania Crepaldi, and Valentina Di Francesco, leading up to the grand finale with Luca Bianchini, writer and radio host, presenting Le ragazze di Tunisi.

The festival closes with Alexis Artis and Lo stupore della lingua italiana, a tribute to the beauty of the Italian language.

Events will take place across various locations in the city center, including Piazza dei Martiri, LibrerBì, Birravagando, and other cultural spaces.

A journey that weaves together books, music, and encounters, transforming San Giovanni Rotondo into a place of dialogue and discovery.

The Street Book Festival 2026 confirms its mission: bringing literature to the people, making it accessible, vibrant, and shared.

An invitation to rediscover the pleasure of reading — and of community — under the May sky.
