FOGGIA – The 56th Concert Season of “Amici della Musica” in Foggia renews its historic appointment with the audience of Teatro Umberto Giordano, the oldest theatre in Puglia, confirming its role as one of the most established cultural institutions in the region.

Sixteen events, divided into two acts – spring and autumn – shape a program that blends tradition and contemporaneity, great repertoire and innovative artistic visions, once again under the artistic direction of Agostino Ruscillo.

Opening and major highlights

The season opens on Saturday 21 February with the return of Balletto del Sud and “Le Maschere”, a performance dedicated to the Commedia dell’Arte and Carnival.

The 2026 program stands out for its diversity and breadth, ranging from operetta with “Cin Cin La” (3 March) to the symphonic grandeur of Orchestra Sinfonica 131 della Basilicata.

International artists

Featured performers include:

Carmine Padula, SIAE Music Awards 2025 winner, with “Music from Cinema”

Chelsea Guo, combining piano and operatic singing

Roberto Plano, winner of the Cleveland International Piano Competition and the American Prize

Alfonso Soldano with the recital “Metamorfosi”

Jazz and pop influences

Jazz takes center stage with “The Four Ladies of Jazz” and “Puccini in Jazz”.

Pop meets Italian songwriting tradition in Silvia Mezzanotte’s concert “Le mie Regine”.

Chamber music and contemporary creativity

Chamber music features prominently with:

“Cello Glamour. Tribute to Heitor Villa-Lobos”

“The Magic of the Clarinet”

“Echoes of the Soul”

A tribute to Claude Monet marks the centenary of his death, combining music and visual arts, while the world premiere of “Medieval Future” by Silvano Mastromatteo highlights contemporary creativity.

Grand finale

The season concludes on 15 December with SeiOttavi, an a cappella ensemble bringing virtuosic vocal energy and Christmas spirit.

Supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, Regione Puglia, Comune di Foggia and Fondazione Musicalia, the season continues to represent a vibrant cultural landmark for the city.

Subscriptions and tickets available at Teatro Umberto Giordano and via Vivaticket.
