The churches
Informations
Leaving the Mother Church, next to the Arco della Terra, you can see an external staircase that leads to the Church of San Filippo Neri which houses the precious silver bust of the Saint, Patron Saint of Roseto. The aforementioned Church is one of the very few, in Italy, located on the first floor of another building. The first and truly precious archaeological document that Roseto possesses is represented by the Funerary Stone which is embedded in the wall that forms the corner between the Church of S. Filippo Neri and the Arco della Terra.
Behind the Mother Church you can admire two high-relief sepulchral slabs walled up in Via Sottosanti, representing a nobleman and a noblewoman asleep in the sleep of death. Roseto has an extraordinary heritage of sacred buildings which testify to the deep Christian roots of its inhabitants and the tradition of popular piety. There are as many as ten churches and places of worship. Among others we remember the small chapel of the Association located inside "Villa Frassati-Don Nicolino De Renzis" which was created to welcome and spiritually train the Catholic Action Youth of Roseto, of which the dear priest Don Nicolino, recently passed away, he was the founder.
