Mount Cornacchia
Informations
Mount Cornacchia, with its 1151 meters of height, is the highest mountain in Puglia. The modest height compared to the peaks of other Italian regions hides an area of remarkable scenic beauty, made of prairies with beautiful blooms, surrounded by relict woods of ancient forests and reflected in the largest natural freshwater lake in Puglia: Lake Pescara.
An enchanting place, but also characterized by significant naturalistic values recognized by the designation of the area as a Special Conservation Area "Monte Cornacchia - Bosco Faeto" (IT9110003). On the other hand, the Apulian Italian Alpine Club has established a path in these places dedicated to Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925).
To reach the area, you need to drive to the town of Biccari and then proceed to Roseto Valfortore and follow the signs for Lake Pescara or the Adventure Park.
