Plot

The story revolves around Jupiter, the supreme god, who decides to disguise himself as Amphitryon while the latter is away from home, with the intent of seducing Amphitryon's wife, Alcmena, and fathering the demigod Hercules.

During a long night of love, Jupiter, in the guise of Amphitryon, recounts events from the real Amphitryon's life to Alcmena, blending the comic with the tragic.
