Church of San Domenico
Informations
Among the oldest churches in Foggia, there is the one dedicated to the monastic order of the Dominican Fathers: the church of San Domenico. Built for the first time at the beginning of the 18th century, the church of San Domenico was rebuilt in Baroque style following the terrible earthquake that hit the city of Foggia in 1731, following which many monuments and city buildings were razed to the ground. .
It houses the frescoes of the fellow citizen Antonio La Piccirella, made towards the end of the nineteenth century, and is the current seat of the congregation of the "Daughters of the Church".
