“La cricca degli onesti” al Piccolo Teatro di Foggia

FOGGIA – A new appointment with “Cammini”, the 2025–2026 theatre season of Piccolo Teatro di Foggia. On February 21, 22 and 28, and March 1, 7 and 8 (Saturday at 9 PM, Sunday at 7:30 PM), the theatre in via Nicola Delli Carri will host “The Clique of the Honest”, a comedy freely inspired by Nikolaj Gogol’s masterpiece The Government Inspector.

Adapted by Dino La Cecilia and Lello D’Amato and directed by La Cecilia himself, the play offers sharp satire updated to contemporary times and local realities.

Cast and production

Alongside Dino La Cecilia, the cast includes Germana Zappatore, Mariagrazia Salemme, Tonia Di Maggio, Beatrice Fierro, Gino De Stefano, Monica La Salandra, Ciro Grittani and Fabio Conticelli.

Costumes and set design are by Emanuela Salvatore. Make-up is curated by ACDC. Stage technicians are Ciro Marchetti and Ciro Carnevale. Audio and lighting are managed by Pasquale Mongiello and Daniele Ricciardi. Stage photography by Ivan Cocco.

The story

The quiet life of Mayor Michele Filolungo and his political circle is suddenly disrupted by the arrival of a supposed Government Inspector assigned to verify the integrity of the city administration.

Through misunderstandings, comic gags and unexpected twists, the Inspector’s presence shakes both family and political balances, exposing questionable habits of the welcoming “clique”.
