Giordano in Jazz 2026 apre con Richard Bona a Foggia

The Giordano in Jazz Festival is proud to present the first concert of the 2026 season, opening the new edition with an outstanding international event: Richard Bona live in Foggia, for the only Southern-Central Italy date and one of just two Italian performances on his tour.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most original bassists in the world, Richard Bona is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer, winner of numerous international awards, including a Grammy Award. His unmistakable sound and natural vocal talent powerfully express his African roots, turning every performance into a deep and moving musical journey.

Bona’s music explores the traditions, culture, beauty and challenges of the African continent, creating an authentic and emotional connection with audiences. This rare communicative strength has made him a key figure in world music, jazz and afropop.

Throughout his career, he has toured, composed and recorded with some of the greatest names in music history, including Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Harry Belafonte, Quincy Jones, Sting, Chick Corea, George Benson, Buena Vista Social Club, Cesária Évora, Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, Bobby McFerrin, Chucho Valdés, Steps Ahead, Oumou Sangaré, and many more.
